Bjork organizes "Army of Me" remixes for chairty

Over the years since "Army of Me" was originally released in 1995 on Post, Bjork has consistently been sent fan remixes and cover versions done by other artists of the song, inspired no doubt by the growling techno-metal of the original and the eclectic mixes that were featured on the original singles. The mixes and cover versions have ranged from hi-energy to death metal. These versions of the song have been gathering dust in the corner of a hard drive in a not-so seedy office. Now is the time to shake off the dust and start some action. The decision was made to release these mixes and cover versions on a 2-CD album to help raise funds for charity. Bjork's Web site states that they know there are more mixes and cover versions out there to complete the album. "Help us to complete it by submitting your cover version or remix. Submissions are therefore invited from musicians working in all genres worldwide. Now is time for collaboration," she said. Bjork and One Little Indian want to release the album at the end of February. All submissions must be encoded to 128kbps MP3 and posted to bjorkremixes@gmail.com. Every version submitted will be listened to, and the final track list will be drawn from new and old versions. Instructions on what to do are listed on Bjork's Web site.
