Bjork has confirmed her fifth studio album, Medulla, will be released August 30. The 14-track album features Bjork singing over rhythms performed by voice artists, or beatboxers, as they prefer to be known. These include Japanese beatbox artist Dokaka as well as Shlomo and former Roots member Rahzel. According to Billboard, other guests include former Faith No More singer Mike Patton of the Fantomas, singer-songwriter Robert Wyatt on a track called "Submarine," classical vocalist Gregory Purnhagen, Inuit throat singer Tagaq and the Icelandic and London choirs. Bjork is not expected to embark on a tour to support the album and so far has given no indication of performing any selected concerts. Speaking to America's W Magazine about the album, the Icelandic singer described it as "rootsy," adding, "I wanted the record to be like muscle, blood, flesh." A limited edition of Medulla will have expanded artwork and a 16-panel poster. The Japanese release will feature a bonus disc with studio footage by Ragga. Bjork has sat down to answer some questions that Web site visitors have asked in the "Q+A" section, this time regarding her upcoming release of Medulla. The "Making Of Medulla" is on Bjork's website.
