SMP plan tour

Seattle industrial rock act SMP (a.k.a. Sounds of Mass Production), the one-man project of Jason Bazinet, is gearing up to unleash a national tour in support of the band's latest album, Crimes of the Future. This national aural assault is anticipated to attack nearly 30 cities across the contiguous States in November. The unsuspecting public will be lambasted with SMP's furiously precise percussion, dance floor-ripping beats and a titillating amalgam of industrial, punk and rap. SMP's Jason Bazinet recently came off a two-month gig drumming for volatile coldwave act Christ Analogue on Sister Machine Gun's Domination Tour. Crimes of the Future, the much anticipated follow-up to 2000's Terminal, was produced by Wade Alin of Christ Analogue and Garrick Antikajian of Doll Factory. It is chock full of SMP's signature cyberpunk sound. The album features guitar work by Doll Factory's Chris Roy. Paul J. Furio (Static Engine) and D. Madden (Penal Colony) also made guest appearances. SMP has been described as cyberpunk, a blend of industrial rock, dance, punk and rap.
