Take the vocals of Kervorkian Death Cycle and blend the music of Terrorfakt and Converter together, and you come up with an incredible slice of noise known as :BAHNTIER//. Revulvsive is a roller coaster of crackly bass beats, crazy back-masked loops, and evil vocals. The combined sound is a trip to listen to and as a noise aficionado, I find it to be "noiserific" (my new stupid adjective). What makes an album "noiserific" you may ask? Well if you know anything about noise, particularly rhythm noise, then you know a heavy repetitive beat is a necessity. Having a heavy repetitive beat is not enough though, because you could just take a regular bass beat and loop it, but it doesn't truly become "noise" until you add some distortion and crackle to it. Top that snap, crackle, and bass with a good dose of snare and some sort of high-end beat to equalize out the bass some and to give the track more depth. The final touch to this is adding weird looped sounds that fluctuate in and out of the beat structure. These sounds will create the songs' atmosphere and give it distinguishing characteristics. Of course, you must have it mixed down just perfectly so the crunchy bass doesn't peak too high and break up more than it should and in the process drowns out the rest of the sounds. This method of creating rhythm noise is just what you need to get your release the "noiserific" stamp of approval. Of course, you can earn extra points by adding freaked out vocals that are tweaked and warped to fit the music. This can be a good tool to add more mood to the track. If you do all these things, like :BAHNTIER// has done, then you should easily make me happy and in the process make other noise freaks happy as well. Now, ask yourself, "Does this asshole really know what the hell he is talking about?" The answer is emphatically no. I really know nothing about making this music (or at least making it well), as I have tried and my efforts have fallen flatter than a pancake. You won't be hearing any pitchfork releases anytime soon, if ever; I suck pretty bad. What I do know is what I like to hear and that is all of the things I described above. :BAHNTIER// takes all of those skills and blends what he knows into a diverse rhythm noise release that doesn't get boring or too repetitive. If you have a chance to pick Revulsive up, then you should do so. You will like it. And if not, I will refund zero percent of your money. Now how can you go wrong with a deal like that?
