Josh Zuckerman scorches the airwaves with songs of passion, unrequited love, and personal self-discovery.
The career of Josh Zuckerman can best be equated with a small brushfire that has begun to burgeon like a roaring blaze. With two full CD releases under his belt accompanied by a multitude of awards, Grammys, television and press exposure, his music is catching on with no sign of abating any time soon. Trained at a young age to play violin, Zuckerman eventually picked up the guitar to drive towards his love of rock. He was first seen in a number of cover bands, but you can’t close an open rose, so eventually, Zuckerman penned his own lyrics and music and headed out on a solo journey. Fast forward to the title track of this CD along with video exposure on the Logo Network, which brought the artist Out From Under in a multitude of ways. Lyrically, we are treated to the universal human experience of a love gone wrong; however, this is far from a mawkish display of self-pity. Instead we are brought into the realm where one accepts the loss and has learned to rise above it and become stronger for the experience. Lyrically, Zuckerman puts his heart on his sleeve to expose a vein of vulnerability and unrequited love on "Something Inside." "Authenticity" declares the simplicity of the artist that you see, nothing more and nothing less. True to form, in spite of the accolades bestowed upon him, Zuckerman remains very close to his fan base and is warm and appreciative of his fans and manages to take a moment from his busy life to respond to emails and the like. "Peace of Me" is reminiscent of the Shawn Colvin hit "Sonny Came Home" and is destined for national radio exposure to make it to the number one spot on the charts. Zuckerman acknowledges through song how he screwed up a relationship and is now living to regret it to some degree. "Be Real" is a dark horse track in which the entire dating realm is explored where one has to try to let down the guard a little, but is fearful of doing so because the intended date has so many masks on in which to hide behind. Out From Under is one man's spiritual and emotional journey set to contemporary music. The tracks herein will take you through the paces of therapy, medication, chat rooms, abusive relationships, and personal responsibility. Nothing here is sugarcoated, abstract, or out of sync with the modern person’s experiences. Zuckerman comes across as the guy living next door, yet in performance and on video, the lamb becomes a lion daring listeners to dig deep within their own soul to find their own personal truth. Out From Under should be required listening to anyone who is currently in the dating world and seeking to find their own happiness from within in order to attract the partner that they deserve.
