A strong single for this poppy and extremely catchy song that's sure to get your toe tapping.

The second single from Finnish electro-pop act Flux, Protected features three versions of the track "Protected." Each track offers its own perspective of the song in different enough fashion to prevent the single from becoming stale. The first version of "Protected," the Regular version, is the sort of song that is sure to delight a dance floor. Highlighted by a steady dance beat and sultry female vocals, this track is sure to be a hit anywhere it's heard. The composition of the track is rich and nicely layered to prevent it from feeling too repetitive and the sound work is deep and unique making the track very distinctive. Surprisingly, despite being the same lyrics, the Original version of "Protected" sounds like an entirely different song. Instead of a strong focus on getting the listener to move, this version draws the listener's attention to the vocal performance and lyrics with more subtle electronic arrangements that perfectly complement the vocalist and allow her voice to shine. Lastly there is the Super Size version, which is a greatly extended version of the Regular version of the track. Despite being almost double the length of the Regular version, the track does not wear thin. It is a nicely done extended mix that lulls you in an almost hypnotic way and makes the end of the ride almost disappointing when it's over. In the end, Protected is a really well done single that does exactly what it should; it leaves the listener wanting to hear a lot more from the band. Flux is most certainly an act to keep an eye on.
