Velvet Acid Christ's mastermind Bryan Erickson is certainly not cheap when it comes to his fans as he continues his Between the Eyes series of rarities as well as remastered and outtake tracks. This series of discs released on Metropolis Records is for the die-hard VAC completist who needs to have every single bit of music that they can get their hands on. Between the Eyes Vol. 3 focuses again on the Church of Acid and Calling ov the Dead albums and also contains tracks from the very limited Neuralblastoma. But that era isn't the total sum of this collection's parts, as there are a few other hard-to-find musical nuggets as well. One of these such nuggets is the albums opening track "Fiction Friction," which is not found on any of the albums mentioned above and seems to be either a B-side or perhaps a totally unreleased track. Other tracks of obscure origin include "Melting," "Broken Mind," "Glorify Satan And Suicide," "Cyber Communists Plotting Red Revolt," and an original version of the track that finds its way onto a VAC release every few years in one form or another, titled "Futile." They are all very good VAC tracks that convey his mastery of dark industrial fused with evil samples and beats that create an all-out eerie sound that is sinfully good to dance to. This disc will delight all of the fans of Velvet Acid Christ, but if you didn't like them before and are thinking about checking this disc out, don't... because it is Bryan Erickson at his finest and if you didn't like it before, you won't now, so as Bryan Erickson would most likely say, "fuck off."
