Funker Vogt
Revivor

It did not take long after Survivor in 2002 for Funker Vogt to return with an even better follow-up, Revivor, an all new remix CD of all their Survivor songs, keeping true to their aggro-electronic industrial style. Well, the only track they did not cover was "Fallen Man," which really disappointed me. I guess the extra multimedia makes up for the missing track. Revivor is definitely Funker Vogt's best remix album to date. The remixes are great for pulverizing the dance floor. The electronics are not as harsh as you might hear on a regular Funker Vogt album, but still pack that punch. The vocals are even not as of a harsh sound now with the electronics, but still have the force and harshness. If you like the more melodic and less harsh electronic styling of their sister bands such as Fictional and Ravenous, that is what you will find here. "History," the Timeless Decay mix by Icon of Coil, is very danceable and has smooth electronics with the touch of Icon of Coil sounds. The remix of "History," has dark atmospheric melodies that really pick this song up! This song comes with much recommendation. My next pick would be "Prisoners of War," by Dance or Die. I am so glad they had Dance or Die help out with a remix. The remix takes on a darker presence and remains very danceable. There are two Luegner remixes, but the Erzahl Mir Doch mix takes the award. Other tracks that you should hear would be "Red Queen," a more relaxed version, "Stolen Thoughts (Given Memories remix by Haujobb)," and "Compulsions (Reworked)," which are worth hearing for their big bass and moderate tempos with a good bounce. Survivor is re-worked and built into something that is dance-friendly. If you got this CD, you would be happy. So what are you waiting for?
