DJ Bone's mix of "Konstrukt" sticks to the spirit of the original while at the same time sounding surprisingly different.
Of all the new remixes of Spanking Machine's Now Lie in It album, this version of "Konstrukt" from Tennessee club promoter DJ Bone is the least like the others, aiming for lush atmosphere rather than sweaty club beats. It also comes the closest to retaining the darkly sensual vibe of the original mix; despite making significant changes to the musical arrangements, it has the same languidly self-assured sexiness of the original, with Mz. Victoria Kalimata's vocals writhing languidly on a bed of thick orchestral string loops while a drum machine pulses in the background. Less techno than darkwave, this doesn't have the same crossover appeal with the rave scene as several of the other remixes from this album, but it should definitely appeal to Spanking Machine's core audience in the fetish and gothic communities.
